In many coating processes (for example: metal, plastic or glass is deposited in the form of steam), vacuum technology plays a decisive role. In many cases, these processes cannot be achieved without the vacuum. Generally, at the beginning of the process, a medium or high vacuum is applied to the chamber in order to evacuate the vacuum, and then the reaction gas or solid raw materials are vaporized.
These coating processes have a common requirement: the chamber must maintain a moderate or high vacuum that fully meets the requirements of the coating process. These coating processes help to change the surface characteristics of the material, such as hardness or corrosion resistance. In addition, vacuum coating can also improve the adhesion or wetting of the material, or keep the surface of the material permanently hydrophobic or hydrophilic.
