1、 Installation method of oil seal in housing hole
Oil seal assembly is very important for the surface roughness and surface quality of housing hole. During assembly, check the inner wall for debris, scratches, dust and casting sand, etc., and push the framework oil seal into the housing seat hole with special tooling.
2、 The inner diameter of the oil seal installed on the shaft is usually smaller than the shaft diameter, forming a certain amount of interference, which is easy to cause lip damage when assembling the oil seal. In order to prevent oil seal lip damage, generally use conical shoulder or conical tooling for assembly. When there are threads, grooves and splines on the shaft, it is invalid to use conical shoulder assembly, but special assembly tools are needed to protect the oil seal lip, that is, a protective sleeve should be set at the thread, groove and spline to avoid the oil seal lip from being damaged by sharp corners, threads, grooves and splines on the shaft. 3、 Installation procedure of framework oil seal and precautions during assembly:
1. The oil seal must be kept clean from receiving to assembling. Before the oil seal is installed, do not tear the wrapping paper too early to prevent the foreign matters from adhering to the oil seal surface and bringing it into the work.
2. Before assembly, check the machining procedure and check whether the size of each part of the oil seal is consistent with the size of the shaft and cavity. The end face processing of shaft and cavity should be smooth and clean, the chamfering should be free of damage and burr, and the assembly parts should be cleaned. The shaft and seat hole should be machined with 15-30 degrees of assembly chamfer, especially inside to the angle, without slope. It is recommended to use fillet type chamfering for assembly parts. There should be no burr, sand, iron filings and other foreign matters at the installation part of the shaft to prevent accidental damage to the oil seal lip. The size of the cavity should be suitable for the outer diameter and width of the oil seal.
3. Check whether the lip of the oil seal is damaged or deformed, whether the spring falls off or rusts, so as to prevent the oil seal from damaging its roundness due to external force extrusion and impact during transportation.
4. If the oil seal has oil return line, it is necessary to determine the relationship between the installation direction and rotation of the oil seal.
5. During assembly, a proper amount of grease such as lithium base grease with molybdenum disulfide should be applied between the oil seal lip to prevent dry friction on the lip and influence the interference amount of the lip when the shaft starts instantaneously. The surface of the contact part of the oil seal lip shall not be processed with thread marks. During assembly, apply sealant on the outer ring of the oil seal, wrap the keyway or step on the shaft with hard paper to avoid scratching or rolling the oil seal lip, or use special tools such as guide transition sleeve to press the oil seal inward. Never smash and punch hard to prevent the spring from breaking after the deformation of oil seal framework. In case of lip flanging, spring falling off and oil seal skew, it must be removed and re installed.
6. The lip is not protected by special tools. Even slight scratch is not allowed, otherwise it is easy to cause oil seal leakage. It is recommended to use oil pressure equipment or sleeve tools for installation. The pressure should not be too high, and the speed should be uniform and slow.
7. When the oil is sealed into the shell, it should be carried out with uniform pressure. When pressing in, the oil seal should not be pressed into the inner hole obliquely, otherwise the outer circle of the oil seal will be deformed.
8. When installing the groove, the inner side of the box must face outward.
